labor relations

BCANJ's labor relations services are comprehensive and assist members in many different respects. From furnishing current and accurate wage data and collective bargaining agreements, to ensuring contracts are accurately and fairly interpreted, the Association's objective is to work with labor to build and strengthen our partnerships to everyone's benefit. As a result, private and public owners continue to recognize that union contractors bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and skilled craft workers to each job they engage.

labor information binder

The Labor Information Binder is a helpful reference for contractors who employ trade labor.  It includes wage rates for the general construction trades, contract summaries, trade directories and much more.  It is continually updated throughout the year.

project labor agreements

Project Labor Agreements (PLA) can create market opportunities for reputable, quality contractors and are a valuable tool for the public entity.  BCANJ tracks all PLA initiatives, including legislation passed in the summer of 2002 authorizing PLAs for the construction of public buildings in New Jersey, as well as the New Jersey Schools Development Authority's (NJSDA) PLA that is applied to all projects directly managed by NJSCC over $5 million.
